| This EMI absorbing clamp is used with an EMI
receiver to measure the RF interference power radiated from electrical
equipments through the mains cable or other wirings. |
. | ||||||||||||||
This measuring method is based on the
method adopted by CISPR. |
| A current probe built in the clamp is coupled to the mains cable and picks up the
interference signal from equipment under test. |
| The output voltage from the clamp is measured with
an EMI receiver and the interference power can be found from the following
formula: |
| P = V + K |
| where P = Interference Power ( dB value with 0dB as 1pW ) V = Measured Voltage with EMI receiver ( dB value with 0dB as 1μV ) K = Correction Factor ( dB ) |
Note 1 : The EMI receiver used with should have an input impedance of 50 ohm and
its specifications should comply with CISPR requirements. |
Note 2 : This clamp has amazing decoupling performance down to lower frequency. This advantage is useful not only for EMI measurement but also for immunity measurement to reduce the influence of the interference from mains line. Decoupling Factors (DF) based on CISPR are as follows: |
| Typical DF with one clamp : 2dB at 150kHz, 13dB at 1MHz, 24dB at
30MHz Typical DF with two clamps : 4dB at 150kHz, 19dB at 1MHz, 39dB at 30MHz |

This is an absorbing device used with an EMI absorbing clamp when measuring
the RF interference power radiated from electrical equipments through the
mains cable or other wirings. |
This device realize the
stable measurement by reducing the unnecessary interference for measurement
coming from a mains supply side, and by improving load impedance stability at
the same time. |
This application is also
recommended to use in the measuring method by CISPR. |
This device uses the same absorbing materials
(which are ferrite rings) as the materials used for EMI absorbing clamp KT-10.
So, the same high quality of decoupling attenuation (Decoupling Factor) can be
expected. |
And installations of the cable under test are so
convenient as the construction of absorbing materials is clamp-on type. |
